Blondie have announced the details of their new single, ‘Long Time’, and you can listen to it here on Gigwise.

‘Long Time’ is the third track to be lifted from the New York veterans’ 11th studio album, Pollinator, which is out on May 5.

The single marks the songwriting reunion of iconic singer Debbie Harry and collaborator Dev Hynes, perhaps better known as Blood Orange. The pair last worked together in 2016 on ‘E.V.P.’ that featured on Hynes’ third album, Freedom Sound.

‘Long Time’ also continues the trail of collaborators that have worked with Blondie on Pollinator. The first single, ‘Fun’, was co-written with TV On The Radio’s Dave Sitek while the follow-up, ‘My Monster’ was penned by former Smiths plankspanker Johnny Marr.

The video for ‘Long Time’ is expected to be out next month, but in the meantime, check out the track here:

Blondie’s new album, Pollinator, was the last album to be recorded at New York’s The Magic Shop studios before its closure last year. Produced by John Congleton (St. Vincent, John Grant, War On Drugs, David Byrne), the album also features contributions from Joan Jett, Laurie Anderson and The Gregory Brothers.

Speaking of the album's song writing contributions - which also include Sia, Charli XCX and The Strokes’ Nick Valesi - singer Debbie Harry said in a statement: “Their material is part of us and we are part of them. It’s a celebration of recycling!”

‘Long Time’ will also be available as a limited edition 7” single from March 24 and will be backed by ‘The Breaks’.

Blondie play a sold-out show at the Roundhouse in London on May 3.
