More than 20 bands added

The Download Festival has expanded it line-up with the addition of more than 20 new acts, including Code Orange, Devin Townsend Project and Suicide Silence.

 

Also joining the bill are - deep breath - Blackwater Conspiracy, Blackwaters, Drones, Krokodil, Love Zombies, Machine Gun Kelly, Max & Iggor Cavalera, Nothing More, Orange Goblin, Otherkin, Pertubator, Sick Puppies, Sikth, Tax The Heat, The Fallen State, The Raven Age and Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown.

Already confirmed are headliners System of a Down, Biffy Clyro and Aerosmith, as well as A Day To Remember, Mastodon, Pierce The Veil, Of Mice & Men, Creeper and whole lot more.

A clearly excited Devin Townsend of, um, Devin Townsend Project enthused thus:

"Download! Amidst a crazy year, we have been invited to play at one of my favourite festivals in the world. The band is rocking better than ever, and we are fired up to have some fun with you guys. We look forward to blowing the roof off the place. See you there!"

Elsewhere, Max and Igor Cavalera will be playing Sepultura’s 1996 album, Roots, in it’s entirety.

New to Download 2017 is The Avalanche Stage that will focus on the latest breaking bands as well as stage headliners Sleeping With Sirens, Simple Plan and The Dillinger Escape Plan. It will be hosted by Kerrang! Radio’s Fresh Blood.

Fresh Blood presenter Alex Baker said: “Right now, there is an undeniable, electric excitement about new music in the air and as soon as we saw the new Avalanche Stage we just had to be involved.”
