Download Festival has announced a large chunk of its bill with some new and established names from the world of rock, pop punk, hardcore and metal.
The likes of Norway's Kvelertak, British up-and-comers Idles, Aussie favourites Northlane, and the insatiable Dilinger Escape Plan bring clout to an already beefy line-up.
The last announcement saw Airbourne, Clutch, Mastadon, Good Charlotte, Coheed and Cambria, Sum 41 and many more confirmed.
Before that we had the headliners: Aerosmith, System of a Down, Biffy Clyro as well as Prophets of Rage, Wakrat and industrial metallers Ministry and many other big names that have us dancing at our desks just thinking about going to see live.
Aerosmith are certainly the main draw as this show is billed as part of their farewell tour. However we are hoping it's not the last jaunt and just a false alarm. The band, who still have all their original members, first played the festival in 1990 then again in 1994, 2010 and 2014.
Their live shows are among the best in the world. They're recognised not only as a formative band in the world of classic rock, but also in grunge as Kurt Cobain cited them as one of his key influences in his journal. He was particularly drawn to the incredible 1976 album, Rocks. It's an album that stands out in their discography alongside 1989's Pump as the best. We simply can't wait to see them live this summer.
