Muse have announced their return, with the promise that their new single 'Dig Down' will be released May 18.
Earlier this year, it was reported that the rock trio had been working on new material at London's Air Studios. Last week, snippets of behind-the-scenes footage were uploaded to the band's social sites showing a music video being filmed. The clip ended with futuristic graphics and text reading "Coming soon".
Now, the band have revealed that the new single 'Dig Down' will be out next week (May 18)

While fans speculate over the sound of Muse's new era, Matt Bellamy previously suggested a more reserved direction might take shape.
“I feel like I say it every time with each album but I feel like it might be time to actually do something a bit more stripped down.” the frontman told Absolute Radio (via NME).
He added: “The last album was written and recorded very much with the idea of how it is going to work in the show in mind. Moving forward, we might want to do something different."
Muse's last album Drones was released in 2015.
Muse will presumably air new material when they headline Reading & Leeds festivals this August Bank Holiday Weekend. The band will also appear at Belfast's Vital festival.
