Lorde has shared a third cut from her upcoming second record Melodrama. Listen to 'Perfect Places' below.

Earlier this week, the NZ pop star promised fans another taste of her new LP - following the release of lead single 'Green Light' and 'Liability'. The singer has also given a live airing of 'Homemade Dynamite'.

Now, Lorde has unveiled 'Perfect Places', which takes the listener on a journey through various stages of a graceless and drunken night out.

"I hate the headlines and the weather, I'm nineteen and I'm on fire - but when we're dancing I'm alright," Lorde sings, as she seeks distraction and joy in alcohol and partying. It's a pop anthem for teenage heartbreak and recklessness.

Lorde previously described Melodrama as being based around a single house party, and 'Perfect Places' appears to follow that theme.

Speaking to the New York Times (via Pitchfork) Lorde said: "With a party, there’s that moment where a great song comes on and you’re ecstatic, and then there’s that moment later on where you’re alone in the bathroom, looking in the mirror, you don’t think you look good, and you start feeling horrible.”

Elsewhere, Lorde recently revealed the full tracklist for Melodrama. The album features 11 songs, including 'Sober', 'Hard Feelings / Loveless' and 'Writer In The Dark'.

'Perfect Places' is likely to be the last release before Melodrama is released on June 16.
