More about: Ed Sheeran
'Shape Of You' star Ed Sheeran has unveiled a string of UK and European stadium dates as part of a 2018 tour. See full details and where to buy tickets below.
The tour, which is his biggest to date, takes in huge sports stadiums, and follows on from a triumphant Glastonbury 2017 appearance.
Gigwise writer Marcus Barnes was down at the Pyramid Stage and described the scene: He's someone "who has clearly been through a huge transition over the past few years, although, in essence, he is still the same gentle, friendly soul who was gigging his arse off back in 2010.
"Sheeran’s performance was a lovely way to end things on the Pyramid Stage, relaxed, jovial and uplifting – not for everyone but those who were there left with big smiles on their faces."
It is remarkable for one man by himself to take on the Glastonbury headline slot, and to follow that with two dates at the awe-inspiring surrounds fo Wembley stadium as well as many of Europe's other most impressive venues that are usually reserved for sports is phenomenal.
Sheeran's sound is a lot fuller than you'd expect from one man, and some viewers of his Glastonbury set, unfamiliar with his live show, took embarassing shots at him for using a backing track. Sheeran was quick to defend himself with this tweet:
Never thought I'd have to explain it, but everything I do in my live show is live, it's a loop station, not a backing track. Please google x
