Somerset House’s Summer Series festival have announced a host of stellar support acts for next month’s run of shows. Check out the full line-up below.
Taking place on July 6 - 16, the event will see the likes of Warpaint, Goldfrapp, Birdy, The Cinematic Orchestra and Songhoy Blues take to the outdoor stage in the unique courtyard setting.
Now, the support acts for each show have been unveiled - including London rock outfit YAK, soundclasher hero David Rodigan and New York City-based band The Candles. They’ll also be special guest appearances from Laura Mvula, Omar and Lasharvu - who will play before The Robert Glasper Experiment.
The festival carefully pairs the set of headliners with appropriate support acts, with the aim of creating a distinct and memorable experience for each audience across the twelve nights of music.
Speaking of the importance of the smaller acts, the festival said: “Many support acts from Summer Series have even gone on to perform headline shows in the unique Somerset House courtyard, including this year’s closing night headliner Songhoy Blues, who will bring their infectious, joyful grooves on 16 July, following their supporting slot in 2015.”
Previous years have seen the likes of Adele, The xx, Blondie, PJ Harvey, Elbow, Bastille and more take to the stage.
Summer Series takes place 6-16 July.
