Four Tet has unveiled a huge new track called 'Planet' via Soundcloud and it's streaming on Gigwise below.

‘Planet’ is a smooth dance floor number with melodic guitar loops and jittery vocal samples. Starting off with glitchy drums and bell chimes the track steadily builds into an infectious sultry tune for late nights and then to the sky with ethereal, space inspired sounds.

The intense energy of it contrasts with last month's new Four Tet release, 'Two Thousand and Seventeen', which is more chilled and contempolative morning listening.

Meanwhile, Four Tet, real name Kieran Hebden, has not confirmed any other information about such as album title or direction, but he told Annie Mac on her Radio 1 show that he had been working "for the last ten months" on what will be his eighth record.

His most recent output includes the EP Morning/Evening in 2015 and a series of remixes for the XX and A$AP Rocky.

Elsewhere, Joe Goddard who is a childhood friend spoke of friendly competition between the two prolific electronic music innovators and he talks about how Hebden introduced him to a lot of new music during their youth and shared trips to festivals and nightclubs. According to Goddard, Kieran "always had his finger on the pulse with so much of that stuff and he introduced a lot to me."
