Pumarosa have shared new single ‘My Gruesome Loving Friend’ and announced details of a UK tour which includes their biggest ever UK headline gig to date with a concert at the Brixton Electric in London on December 6.
Speaking of the new single, singer Isabel Munoz-Newsome says that ‘My Gruesome Loving Friend’ was inspired by exactly that: “She has two children and is very conscious and free. The way she lives excites me and other people around her, but I also see how the ethos of diving into life can be very dangerous: you are at the same time very powerful and very vulnerable. It’s so brave. So I watch her and learn.”
Um… right. But this is a memorable slice of indie-rock made more so by nagging hooks, fuzzy guitars and Isabel Munoz-Newsome’s idiosyncratic vocals that linger in the memory long after the song has finished. And there’s a pretty good chance that you’re going to be hitting the repeat button too.
