After last week’s track 10/10 received full marks from fans and critics alike, Alex O’Connor hops back in the saddle to announce new album Pony. To be released on 25 October via Sony Music, the album will mark his first solo material since 2017’s Apricot Princess.

Bringing in an uplifting flurry of synths and an affected vocal, on his latest single Rex explores and reflects upon a tough year from which he emerges triumphant, both sonically and mentally after ‘getting his shit together’. It’s a short and snappy track that provides a good indicator of what’s to come from his new material.

Alongside the album announcement, Rex is announcing a headline tour of the UK and Ireland, and he’ll then venture across the big blue to play North America for some of his biggest shows to date. Before then, though, he’ll play two dates at London’s O2 Academy Brixton.
