Footage has emerged of the moment that Elbow’s set was interrupted by a streaker. The incident occurred last Saturday (September 2) as the band were just two songs into their headline set at the Downs Festival in Bristol.
Ever the genial frontman, singer Guy Garvey didn’t break his stride as the streaker took to the stage during a performance of ‘The Bones Of You’. As security people attempted to drag the naked man from the stage, Garvey instead went over to the interloper and began dancing with him, much to the crowd’s delight. And as the pair waltzed across the stage, Garvey copped himself a cheeky feel of fleshy buttock. Having completely stripped off, the streaker is then removed from the stage by anxious security staff.

Quite whether the streaker usually throws those curtains wide when fiddling with his buttons and zips to display grace under pressure remains to be seen but perhaps the security staff covered him with the blanket of night [that’s enough Elbow puns, thank you – Ed.].
It’s certainly gives a new meaning to ‘The Take Off And Landing Of Everything’, eh? [I said that’s enough - Ed.]
