Stand by and get ready to be blown away – New York-based punk-blues trio Daddy Long Legs have announced details of seven-date UK tour in November which will see the band call at London, Brighton and Edinburgh.
Signed to the legendary rock'n'roll label Norton Records, Daddy Long Legs have built up a well-deserved reputation for high-octane rock’n’roll shows that have left a trail of devastated venues and breathless audiences in their wake.
We know of what we speak. We’ve been blown away by their previous visits to these shores and this tour should prove no different. A Daddy Long Legs show is equal parts roots rock, blues and guttural soul, stripping down old standards and making them shiny and new again. Many of their originals are like an all-out spiritual revival, while others simply take excitement to a whole new level.
Frontman Brian Hurd is a hollering harmonica evangelist and helping him testify is guitarist Murat Akturk who cranks out everything from powerhouse country-blues rhythms to slinky-assed multi-stringed slide riffs. And all of this is driven by the powerhouse drummer that is Josh Styles. Check out this devastating version of live favourite 'Motorcycle Madness' that thrills the faithful and converts non-believers to their cause:
