More about:

LA-born singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Beck has previewed his forthcoming thirteenth studio album with a short teaser clip.

The new LP, Colors, is the follow up to 2015’s Grammy Album Of The Year ‘Morning Phase’, and will drop on 1 October.

Confirming an online leak earlier this year, The album will include 10 songs.

Beck has described these songs as "simple and uplifting and galvanising, where the spirit moves you, that kind of feeling."

"Those are the hardest. This new record I focused on that feeling. It’s the easiest to fail at. Or to come off on one hand disingenuous, or on the other hand just trite, or, you know, there’s that fine line between platitude and just the truth. And that fine line between making a big commotion and a bunch of movement and just actual unadulterated joy."

The snippet of track accompanying the video teaser bears this out; a jumping pop beat with stirring overlaid vocoder overdubs which is sure to generate countless of hands-in-the-air moments when Beck takes the record out on the road, presumably next year.

The record is now available to pre-order from Beck’s official website and will be put out as a limited-edition deluxe vinyl, including two red vinyl LPs in a unique, die-cut gatefold package.

The package will also include a 24-page lyric art book intercut with transparencies.
