A siren led battle cry

Run The Jewels have surprised fans with the release of 'Mean Demeanour', a standalone song, not on any album.

The track has been included on the Fifa 18 soundtrack and the hip-hop duo are not new to having their music synched to video games. Last Autumn their track ‘Panther Like a Panther’ took a spot on the 4th instalment of Gears of War. And they’re even branching out into film. Although attempts so far have not yet been completely successful they are not without plenty of ambition. The group recently shared a ‘rejected and ignored’ demo sent for the score of the new Blade Runner movie.

The Fifa track ‘Mean Demeanor’ is a siren led battle cry with lyrics like "Don't doubt that we won't fucking down you dogs/Go shout it to the gods 'RTJ has arrived'/

To make their minions cry, burn our image in their eyes." Business as usual then.

You can hear the ‘El Toranado mix’ of the track on the Fifa commercial here:

Or hear the original on Spotify:

Other artists who have found spots on the Fifa 18 soundtrack include The National, Lorde, The XX, Slowdive, and Perfume Genius.

RTJ will play this winter’s Pitchfork festival alongside The National, Ride, Talaboman, BADBADNOTGOOD, Kamasi Washington, and more. The group are still steaming ahead and see to be going from strength to strength.
