Iggy Pop has turned down the chance to star in the movie biopic of his life.

Elijah Wood from Lord of the Rings fame is set to play the punk legend in the film, which Iggy admits was a curious choice.

According to dotmusic, having read over the script Iggy is very happy with the film calling it a work of art.

He said: “The script ain’t chopped liver… It was a work of art. But subjectively I don’t want to be involved in any way.”

Speaking about Elijah, he said: “I don’t really know about him… I saw him on TV the other day and he seemed like a very poised and talented actor.”
