Rachel Chinouriri returns with the mellow 'Darker Place', and adjoining video, which sees the artist explore life's contrast between light and dark. It follows last year's stream of singles and her inclusion in Michaele Coel's I May Destory You.

'Darker Place' switches between dark and bubblegum pop, with a sinister through-line making sure that the whole thing gives off an air of chic foreboding.

“Darker place is about the battle between light and darkness. I don’t fear darkness and believe that in the right circumstances, every human being has the potential to do anything. I wrote this about a person who follows someone around, but is conflicted on whether to act on impulse or hold their urges – that battle that this person has in their head." Chinouriri explained.
