With comparisons readily made between Keith and The Smiths, ‘Back There’ had potential. This was swiftly removed as the song kicked in with all thrust of a beleaguered donkey ridden by John Prescott in hot weather: tired before it’s begun. The chorus of ‘Back There’ doesn’t ever make up for the poor verses, which is a shame because there were times when it felt the track was about to capture the speakers and make them its own. But it never happened and what we’re left with is commercial indie which sadly doesn’t excite or entice its listener. Who is ‘Keith’ anyway?
