Pharrell Williams favourite band of the moment is something of a surprise – the Neptune star is digging the dynamic grooves of, er, Keane.
The much-heralded hip-hop producer is indeed such a fan of Keane he’s desperate to work with the less-than-dynamic English indie-rockers – believe it or not.
Pharrell, at least we think it was him, says, “I love Keane - they are my favourite band at the moment and I'd like to do something with them."
Perhaps it’s not that surprising though. Original gangsta rapper Ice-T was desperate to be Phil Collins’ homeboy after all, and couldn't understand why the whole of Britain thought he was crap.
Williams has also dismissed eyebrows raised by his work with the rocktastic Velvet Revolver frontman Scott Weiland.
He shrugs, “People are surprised by my work with Scott. I don't know why. I only work with people if I am moved by them."
It would be unfair at us to joke at this point that the only people ever moved by Keane were when the band had to take a day job for Pickfords when they were struggling, young musicians.
