Kings of Convenience Enjoy the Silence

Sometimes silence can be more powerful than noise itself. In contrast to all the current electronic and hard rocking stuff, Norwegian Erlend Oye and Eirik Glambek Boe a.k.a. Kings of Convenience come along with their simple melodies and introspective speech to get their message across.

Relying again almost solely on guitars and harmonies, they release their long-awaited second album on June 21. Having been embraced warmly by the crowd because of their beautiful debut 'Quiet is The New Loud' and the following 'Versus' which included remixes by the likes of Ladytron and Royksopp, Kings Of Convenience return with their second album 'Riot On An Empty Street'. 'Misread' is the first single and is released June 7 on Source/Virgin.

For the past couple of years, the two Kings have been living polar opposite lives. Erlend's path has been well documented, travelling the world, exploring and making dance music. Eirik on the other hand, continued his Psychology degree. However, over the past six months, the pair came together in Bergen to once again unite in song. You have the chance to listen to the new single 'Misread' here! Kings Of Convenience have also confirmed UK dates in June: 19th June - London ICA (sold out) 22nd June - Glasgow Arches 23rd June - Manchester Southern Hotel
