- More New Young Pony Club
Formed in 2004, New Young Pony Club, better known as -Tahita Bulmer (Vocals), Andy Spence (Guitar), Lou Hayter (Keyboards), Igor Volk (Bass) and Sarah Jones (Drums) – are all about electro rhythms, danceable beats and rather suggestive lyrics.
Quickly after the London based band fused together through an eclectic admiration of Blondie, LCD Soundsystem, Talking Heads and The Stooges (to name just a few), NYPC soon attracted a loyal fan base thanks to their user friendly music and energetic live performances.
The band released their first two singles, ‘Get Lucky,’ (March 2006) and ‘Ice Cream,’ (September 2006) on limited 7” vinyl, and, thanks to the singles success, they were signed by Phil Hutcheon to Australian based record label Modular.
NYPC’s rise to fame was also helped when ‘Ice Cream,’ was used extensively as the soundtrack to an Intel Core 2 Processor advert.
New Young Pony Club’s frenetic live performances have earned them an esteemed live reputation and so far the band have toured with Klaxons and CSS.
New Young Pony Club achieved their first significant chart success in March 2007, with the release of ‘The Bomb,’ which charted inside the top 50 in the UK. The band are set to release their debut album, ‘Fantastic Playroom,’ in June 2007, as well as embarking on a number of worldwide tour dates.
