Lily Allen Tells The NME: Take Your Heads Out Of Your New Rave Arses

Lily Allen, queen of mouthy tirades, has really got the goat with this year’s NME Cool List and has told them to take their “heads out of your New Rave arses”.

The latest rant on Allen’s now notorious Myspace blog lists her grievances with the magazine’s list and its treatment of women.

She starts off by admitting that she’s not a big fan of the music weekly because “they sold me down the river when I last talked to them” by overstating her jokey remarks about “gak”.

She adds: “They glorified my joke and used it out of context then their public relations dept contacted the tabloids in a shameful attempt to sell more copies.”

Then she moves onto this year’s cool rundown and reveals that she had been involved in a photoshoot with the other four women that made it into the top ten for this weeks front cover.

The cover was ditched in favour of Muse and Allen has vowed never to work with NME again as a result.

She blasted: “I went to get a copy yesterday, and this is what we (the women) got. Another fuckin’ MUSE cover.”

“I don't really think the NME are in any position to tell us who is cool and who isn't. Personally I don't think a bunch of people sitting in an office drinking tea inventing musical genres and watching Nathan Barley DVD's are leading any kind of cool brigade, do you?”

Obviously the rant is going to cause a bit of friction in some quarters.
