Phil Spector Trial Could Be Televised

The Judge heading the murder trial of Phil Spector in the United States has said that the trial could be televised.

Spector is accused of murdering B-movie star Lana Clarkson in February 2003.

Superior Court Judge Larry Paul Fidler told the court: “This is a trial of public interest."

He added that he firmly believed that the public should be allowed to witness the trial - although the Lawyers involved in the case have asked for time to consider the idea.

The trial was due to start in September 2005 but it has been postponed on three occasions. Spector is currently on a $1 million dollar bail in the States and if he’s convicted, he could face the maximum penalty of life imprisonment.
