As far as modern prog rock goes there's a rare few who pull the sound emphatically, and Seventeen Evergreen just fall short. Although dark and dreamy with the potential to be a decent tune, ‘Haven’t Been Yourself’ is more experimental grunge than anything else - riffs that drone on and dull vocals that do nothing for the song beyond making it too calming. ‘Sufferbus’ is more true to the avant-garde sound with heavier Dandy Warhol style guitars and echoing vocals, buzzing synths and swaying beats. But despite a decent attempt on the flip side, Seventeen Evergreen fail to really move or hold too much attention.
