The Decemberists and The Thermals are amongst the acts contributing tracks to a charity album rooted in their native Portland, Oregon.
The compilation is titled ‘Bridging the Distance: A Portland, OR covers compilation’ and will be released Stateside on April 17.
Proceeds gained from album sales will go to the charity ‘p:ear’ which helps the homeless and underprivileged youths.
Also appearing on the 19-track compilation are the likes of The Dandy Warhols’ Christopher Walla and Viva Voce.
Amongst the interesting covers are takes on The Cult’s ‘She Sells Sanctuary’, Led Zeppelin’s ‘Tangerine’, Bruce Springsteen and The Decemberists’ take on Fleetwood Mac.
