It would be quite easy for Jean Michel Jarre to simply give up and pack it all in. Already established as an artist who legitimately broke new ground with electronic music and as someone who has had a place in the Guinness Book Of World Records for the largest attended gig, you’d imagine the temptation to step back would loom large. Instead, he’s kept going, with this the first cut off the forthcoming album of the same name.

The result is a tad disappointing. A straightforward dance heavy track fit for a cheesy dance club with the addition of a spoken word story layered on top. Sure, it’s catchy enough and it certainly doesn’t do anything wrong. However there’s a familiarity to it that suggest Jarre could have written this in his sleep and still had time to fit in several hours worth of dreams too. Perhaps it is unfair to continually expect innovation but this does feel that it could have been produced by any generic dance artist. Hopefully the album itself will have more sparks of creativity to it as this is solid but nothing more.
