Johnny Borrell Records Solo Track
Razorlight frontman Johnny Borrell has recorded a solo single to raise money for charity.
Kirsten Dunst’s other half recorded the track ‘Funeral Blues’ yesterday (May 30) in aid of Friends of the Earth’s Big Ask Campaign.
In an unprecedented move, Borrell recorded the track in London’s only solar powered recording studio.
However, the singer revealed that the song was not written specifically for the campaign, saying: "It's a song that I wrote a little while ago, and I've been really looking forward to recording it, but it has nothing to do with the ecological concerns whatsoever."
Borrell continued that he approached the organisation off his own back, adding: "I went to the cinema with a friend. We watched An Inconvenient Truth, that film by Al Gore, and we walked out and were like, 'blimey' so that was it. I just got on the phone the next day. I said, 'I'm Johnny. I'm in a band called Razorlight. Can I help you?'"
The Big Ask is calling for the UK to cut its carbon emissions by three percent every year.
