Do you remember those guys who took your ears clean off on that Apple advert a few weeks back? My ears are still ringing a bit from that malarkey. Anyway, the Washington duo Odesza have announced that they’re also curating a brand new festival, Sundara (named after one of their own tracks) and it’s based in Riviera Maya, Mexico.
Taking place from March 13 to 16 next year, the festival will be according to Harrison: “It’s a bunch of our friends playing a bunch of exclusive stuff.” So looking at the names announced so far, this includes Odesza themselves as headliners plus Rüfüs du Sol, Alison Wonderland, Bob Moses, Jai Wolf, TOKiMONSTA, Mount Kimbie, Kasbo, EVAN GIIA, Pluko and Golden Features. So if you’re looking for a rave to put down in your calendar, then no doubt this will suffice.
Sundara is the Sanskrit for ‘Beautiful’, and with the festival taking place on the Mexican Yucatan peninsula, it’s safe to say that their location of choice will be as well.
Even though they’re playing Sundara, we haven’t heard much from Mount Kimbie since last year. So why not refresh your memory by having a quick listen to ‘Blue Train Lines’ featuring the one and only King Krule? Back in July, we deemed it one of the week’s best releases.
The festival will also include opportunities to practice some yoga, go snorkelling and other idyllic pastimes. Tickets go on sale here on Tuesday 23rd October at 5pm GMT.
Meanwhile, you can listen back to the trap banger they shared with us last month, here.
