A generous slate of crowd-pleasing acts has just been announced ahead of next year’s Rock Werchter festival in Belgium in late June.
Florence + The Machine, Muse, Kylie, Miles Kane and Yungblud are all confirmed, as well as Tool and Vance Joy.
A diverse assortment to be sure – what on earth do they all have in common, you might reasonably ask?
They put on a fucking banging live show, is what. Which is the whole reason you go to festivals, isn’t it (plus day drinking ).
Oh, and The Cure are playing, plus P!nk and Mumford & Sons.
So you can take in a performance of proper respectable heritage rock, then nip off for a cheeky poptastic palate cleanser, then holler yourself hoarse to an act you’d probably never heard of but will now worship until the day you die.
Y’know, a festival.
It’s Belgium’s biggest, by the way, and in the past has attracted acts of the calibre of Arctic Monkeys, Radiohead and Foo Fighters. European crowds bloody love a drink and a party, and there’s generally way less aggro after dark.
Taking place over four days and three stages and with a capacity of 88,000, Werchter runs Thursday 27 June through to Sunday 30 June.
