Following the release of three singles - 'How Low Will You Go, 'Party Without Ya', and 'Ladies Who Lunch With Me' - Brixton synth-pop duo Wooze have unleashed their most ambitious track to-date in 'I'll Have What She's Having'.

Echoing the might of Gary Numan and Men Without Hats, the enrapturing sound they've created is indicative of a band who've found their stride and are ready to shift gears to take on the biggest stages in the world. They're one of the most catchy, inventive, and artful pop-orientated bands in London. Their appeal lies in observing their intriguing, unique imagination that hints at complete devotion to the project. Like great novelists, Wooze have a knack for conjuring vivid worlds by teasing out imagery from their subconscious and articulating it with clarity, helped by eschewing the temptation to tone down or edit out the weirder elements.

As for the sonic DNA, in addition to the new wave sounds mentioned above, we ought to add an openness to the artists around them in London has played a big part. The band have noted in a brief chat with Gigwise at The Windmill in Brixton late last year their admiration for Pleasure Complex, who resemble the likes of Wire, Everything Everything, Kraftwerk and Blur. Wooze are also signed to Young Poet Records, and work with producer Hugh Worskett, who runs the label. Delving deeper into their background you'll also find the band's core members Jamie She and Theo Spark met at a guardian property in South London - a disused  builder’s depot - called Muddy Yard. They were able to live and perform in the same space, giving them plenty of opportunity for collaboration and a chance to hone their craft  and build their stylised aesthetic.

Most recently, they've been playing choice festival gigs, such as Transmusicales. They've been flying over to Korea, where Theo from the band was born, touring and making music videos with director Nuri Jeong. Time spent in Asia has led to the uptake of the Pansori genre by osmosis and it's said to be woven into their sound.

The EP, which is titled what’s on your mind? - and ready for release on 3 May - comes at a pivotal time for the band: There's enough buzz surrounding them for them to have a very strong Great Escape show a few days after it comes out. Everything seems lined up in the right direction. It's hard to see it going anywhere but up for Wooze, really.

The Track List for the what’s on your mind EP is:

'I’ll Have What She’s Having'
'Zeus’ Masseuse'
'Cousin Paul From Paddington'
