Debut solo album Diviner is out via Domino this Friday

Hayden Thorpe’s third ever track to be heard since Wild Beats disbanded and he went solo has been shared today. Titled ‘Earthly Needs’, you can listen to this cathartic, multi-layered ANOHNI-esque track below.

It follows on from the mournful piano-led intro number ‘Diviner’, which came out in February. And the more driving ‘Love Crimes’ single – a sad song with a glimmer of resolve. Uniting all three tracks to come out in advance of the album Diviner is the attention to detail: there's a lot layered in there, but it all feels essential as opposed to ornamentation. Each spec of sound there to convey Thorpe's feelings to the fullest possible extent. We get the sense Thorpe's dealing with some intense changes in life and moving through life as opposed to dwelling on things. Conveying this overtly are the words, "Even the greatest of loves / Can be given up", on 'Love Crimes'.

All three tracks bode incredibly well for the album coming out on Friday via the mighty Domino Records.

To coincide with the release, Hayden Thorpe has a series of shows lined up both sides of the pond. See the tour dates below.
