Esteemed Margate-based Parisian producer Sarasara has today unveiled a new cut titled 'Tinketoy'. It was recorded with her neighbour Peter Doherty.

Sarasara's already shared 'Into Me See' and 'Blood Brothers' and this third cut, ahead of the 5 July release of the album, is the first one we hear with Doherty on.

The textured piece sees Sarasara and Doherty getting an equal share of vocal parts, which are underpinned by an organic-electronic soundscape built up in layers with plenty of delay, distortion, and bass. The beat feels more a background feature and is slow, allowing the brooding nature of their vocal take command. But it does shift up a gear at a point. The lyrics were written in one session and feel spontaneous yet genuine and heartfelt.

Of working with Doherty, Sarasara writes: "I’m not sure I can explain what happened with this song. Peter and I were talking about doing something together for a while. One evening, he knocked on my studio door, we had a lovely time and wrote 'Tinkertoy', then he said I was “a Siren” and he ran away."

Elsewhere, Doherty has been on tour promiting the debut Puta Madres album. And The Libertines have a handful of festival gigs coming up. The Libertines hotel in Margate is yet to see a fourth album finished but we eagerly await it.
