Hot Chip – ‘My Piano’

There’s a ramshackle charm to Hot Chip that’s hard to shake.  They never seem to be truly transcendent yet are never unlistenable either which basically makes them the musical equivalent of Neapolitan ice cream.  ‘My Piano’ is lovely, maintaining that aforementioned charm while also never truly sparkling.  You could see yourself listening to this right at the end of your time on the treadmill when you just don’t quite want to work as hard as you had been.  All in all though, tuneful but forgettable.
