The monumental new music festival that is South by Southwest (SXSW) has released another list of musicians who will be showcasing in Austin, Texas in March 2020. The new list features several Gigwise favourites.

Following on from the first announcement of artists heading to the city, SXSW have revealed hundreds more people heading to the music festival arm of an event that covers film, comedy and hosts a conference too.

Arlo Parks will bring bedroom emo pop to Austin. Her perfect streak of releases to date led us to name her music "lo-fi alternative pop jams [which] show off a deftness with imagery, an ear for groove, and an easy fit for Generation Z’s poet laureate."

Walt Disco, the Glaswegian new New Romantics, will set the stage alight with high drama and high-low pop: "Walt Disco fulfil both the sonic appetite of both the muso-connoisseur and those who just purely love a brilliantly written pop track."

Also announced are Steam Down, the London jazz collective with a weekly music night, and a newly-released single 'Free My Skin', which "darts from jazz to afrobeat and future soul in a flurry of impeccably-composed twists and turns."

Gigwise are also excited to see that Sorry will bring their "Deadpan, demented and genre-mangled" brilliance to the world stage. Having just announced the arrival of their debut album 925, their set will be a must-see for "avant-garde gravitas."

Swim Deep will represent pure, British indie overseas after the release of their latest album Emerald Classics: "It’s the band stripped back, being honest to themselves and the listener", Swim Deep told us.

More bands announced include London upstarts Italia 90, L.A. popsters Nasty Cherry, sub pop sweethearts Moaning and solemn indie boys China Bears

SXSW will take place 13-22 March 2020 in Austin, Texas. See the full list of announced artists here.
