Keaton Henson is back to pull on your heart strings.'Career Day' is his first new music since 2016's Kindly Now and it's just what we hoped for from the master of emotion and intimacy.

"I'm paper thin" Henson croons in his singular warble, a ripple of finger-picked guitar spreading out from the centre of his poetry. Like all of Henson's discography, 'Career Day' needs little more than vocals, guitar and just an insinuation of synth and backing vocal to reach perfection.

The new gift arrives with some lovely footage of Henson as a child. See it and welcome Henson back gladly. We've missed him:

'Career Day' refers to the era of multiple professions and the sensation that none of them are quite working out.

Reflecting on the visuals, Henson said: “The video is a collection of often abstracted shots from deeply personal home videos. I just liked the idea of hearing an ageing weary man, singing about his failings over distorted shots of his childhood, and how it colours those captured gleeful moments with the sadness of the passage of time.”

More new music coming soon? We hope so.
