Charli XCX creation Nasty Cherry have released a brand new single today. 'I Am King' announces a new EP titled Season 2 - and like its recent predecessor 'Shoulda Known Better' it's a tribute to early-00's pop.

Production is courtesy of Dylan Brady from mad experimental unit 100 gecs, but inspiration is clearly straight outta the early aughts - we can hear Gwen Stefani in the vocal delivery among a cocktail of other pop icons. 

Things are very XCX too: jarring electronica melts into femmebot vocals that make the case for self-love and masturbation.

'I Am King' announces the Season 2 EP, which will also feature recent bop 'Shoulda Known Better'. 

Announcing the newest single on Twitter, the band said: "I know this is impossible to believe, but tomorrow we will release the greatest Nasty Cherry song of all time".
