With a view to featuring more Black voices on Gigwise

As we noted in our feature on Black Out Tuesday this week, there's a lot that Gigwise could be doing to be better allies to Black people in the music industry. Yesterday, we used our extra time and space to research, donate and spread the word on urgent petitions.

But of course, that's not enough. We're a music publication after all, and a majority of the artists we feature are white.

Over the past year, we've featured more Black artists than ever before. We strive to multiply that number.

Here, you'll find a playlist of Black artists in guitar, indie and alternative genres - the genres that Gigwise is historically interested in reporting. There are heritage acts in there, and a lot of new talent too. Just a handful of the artists we'll strive to feature from here on out.

Playlist compiled by Liam James Ward, Sam Meaghan, Shannon Cotton and Jessie Atkinson.
