More about: Psychedelic Porn Crumpets
Psychedelic Porn Crumpets have been away, but they're well and truly back on new single 'Mr. Prism', a typically kaleidoscopic psych journey into an alternate universe. It's the first release of 2020 for the Australian group following last year's album And Now for The Whatchamacallit.

They may have first caught your eye because of their conspicuous name, but it's the music that keeps you coming back. "A century ago I'd have died" frontman Jack McEwan sings atop carousels of illusion-spinning guitars and finger-bleeding solos, narrating the surreal experience of pushing on through a gruelling tour schedule - with pneumonia.
Give it a listen for joyful psych, a neat breakdown and some arcade samples:
“After our last tour of Europe I had a plethora of reasons to see a doctor. First, he thought I had tonsillitis, so prescribed me penicillin, which didn’t help at all. I did Falls Festival over New Year’s and barely got through - turns out I had pneumonia" McEwan says. It's with this experience that 'Mr. Prism' was born.
We went to see Psychedelic Porn Crumpets at The Shacklewell Arms in 2018 and said: "the Crumpets play to a sardine tin, swelling beyond the confines of the small stage with a brand of psych so potent you could taste the sound waves on your tongue."
We caught up with them as part of out Gigwise Pintcast Pub Crawl at The Great Escape last year.
