The Damned have announced their return with their full, original line-up. Dave Vanian, Brian James, Rat Scabies and Captain Sensible shared the surprising news this afternoon at a press conference at London's Roundhouse.

The foursome will celebrate 45 years of being a band in 2021 with four live dates around the UK. "It's probably the worst time to get a band back together" Vanian noted, "but while we're all relatively upright we should do it."

Though the band revealed that they hadn't yet rehearsed as a reformed unit, they're optimistic that there will be no fallings out. "We could power the national grid" with their music, Captain Sensible said.

Tomorrow (22 October) marks 44 years since the release of 'New Rose', widely regarded as the first ever punk single.

Old punk is back, but is new punk A Thing? Rat Scabies thinks so: "IDLES carry a lot of 1976 with them," he said.
