More about: Blanketman
Manchester outfit Blanketman - who have recently been spotted working with Nile Marr at his studio in the Northern Quarter - have shared their new single 'Leave The South'. A manifesto of sorts, it's a rallying cry for young people shipping out to London and other parts of the south.

The single is taken from the forthcoming debut EP National Trust. Across a cascading guitar riff, Blanketman discuss the relative positives of the north as opposed to the south - and vice versa. The north may be grey but the water does taste better up there...
"The song harks back to five years ago when I was living in Reading while at uni," the band's Adam Hopper said, "I was in a rut mentally and my friends had stayed up north and I found myself feeling increasingly isolated and skint."
At the end of 2020, we spoke to Blanketman about their year. They're looking forward to 2021: "we recorded our debut EP, out in March 2021, we are writing productively for whatever is going to come next and people seem to be enjoying the music we’ve already put out."
