Yesssss: foremost Japanese indie band CHAI have announced a brand new album. WINK is coming via Sub Pop in May, and is propped up with its first single today 'ACTION'.

Mellower and more electronic than is usual for the four-piece, 'ACTION' pulses with the beat of the basement club. The sweet vocals of CHAI - both in English and Japanese add that singular magic to the mix. Both reassuring and stirring, it's a protest bop that's equally fortifying:

Ever positive and political, Yuuki explains CHAI's inspiration behind the lead single as seeing the worldwide Black Lives Matter movement of 2020: "Seeing how the world came together during the protests really moved me. I wanted to dedicate that song to the year of action.”
