We're excited to share a newly-discovered gem today: the 'one girl band' Maripool, aka Lisbon-born, London-based songwriter Natasha Simões. Her new single 'Blindness' dropped this morning.

A cacophony of detached vocals and insistent guitars played by live addition Bea make this an echoing, surf-grunge alternative delight that'll pique Sorry and The Orielles fans' interest.

I wrote 'Blindness' during the first lockdown, I was listening to a lot of punk and midwest emo so felt natural to change the direction a bit," Maripool, who has been releasing music for three years, said.

"It was inspired by the Book 'Blindness' by José Saramago, I was really intrigued with the narrative of everyone becoming blind except one person. I put that into perspective and wrote about it."
