ISLAND return today with 'Octopus', a lush, multi-layered indie-pop dreamscape. Creamy, thick and warming, the single is the first from the group since 2019 and is a very welcome return. Who could forget those downbeat tones?

Still, two years is a long while to be out for, and the space between 2019 and now is clear in the feather-light production on 'Octopus', which was written in lockdown and produced by Thom Yorke collaborator Mikko Gordon.
"'Octopus’ describes the feeling of looking back on rebellious teenage years from a time where an impulse to cause trouble has been replaced with new sentiments," the band said. "The song ends by flirting with the idea of reverting back to old ways, and getting back to making trouble."
Out now on Frenchkiss Records, 'Octopus' is the first of more new music to come.
