Lucy Dacus has shared a chilling and beautiful new single - 'Thumbs'. With echoes of Phoebe Bridgers and a tinge of country rock, it's a haunting narrative track written about the experience of meeting up with a friend's ominous father figure.

"I would kill him if you let me" she sings quietly over the curling smoke of a synth in the background. Not much more than Dacus' vocal is needed to make 'Thumbs' a fist in the jaw of a listen:

“Like most songs I write, I wasn’t expecting it and it made me feel weird, almost sick" she said, "it tells the story of a day I had with a friend during our freshman year of college, a significant day, but not one that I had thought of for years."
