Today marks the official single and video release of ‘Birds Fly Free’ from up-and-coming L.A. outfit MILLY. Released via Dangerbird Records, it’s a nonchalant, shoegazy instalment taken off an upcoming EP titled Wish Goes On.

‘Birds Fly Free’ is completed with a comically mundane music video, effortlessly stirring feelings of escapism and freedom. As we each try to take things day by day, ‘Birds Fly Free’ feels like it serves much of a deeper meaning during these troublesome times.

With frontman Brendan Dyer’s mumble spoken word lyrics, Spencer Light and Yarden Erez on distortion duty, and drummer Zach Capitti Fenton wrapping things up on drums, MILLY deliver us a colossal chorus on this one:

Scheduled for release this April, it’s fair to say ‘Birds Fly Free’ has us eagerly awaiting the Wish Goes On EP in full - MILLY are definitely ones to watch this year.
