More about:

Squid are back with their latest single ‘Paddling’, taken from their upcoming debut Bright Green Field which will be released 7 May via Warp Records. The band take their time on this 6-minute song, experimenting with drum loops, hypnotic vocals and philosophically rich lyrics.

Describing the song as a reminder that “we are ultimately animals that are driven by both modern and primal instincts”, Squid are not holding back on what is going to be an unbelievably ambitious debut album.

Bright Green Fields is produced by Dan Carey, who has been behind some of the best albums of recent years from Fontaines D.C., Goat Girl and Kae Tempest.

‘Paddling’ is a heavy song, and it’s one that you won’t be able to pull yourself away from.
