A bassier effort

More about:

Billie Marten's third album, Flora Fauna, drops on 21 May and the second track on the album is also the second single, 'Creature of Mine' - out today.

Out now, 'Creature of Mine' is bassier than Marten's previous work and and, with a lyrical lightness of touch, considers a post-apocalypic choice of who to take along when leaving Earth.

The track was Annie Mac's Hottest Record in the World yesterday and discussing with Jack Saunders on the show, Marten ascribed the heavier sound to the drunk purchase of a bass guitar... "having had no skill or rehesarsal whatever, I was playing it like a normal guitar but it came out in this very clunky, instinctive, visceral way. Tenatative things I was doing on the acoustic couldn't happen anymore".

A series of dates for later in 2021 was announced with Marten saying, "We're going for September, I don't know what's gong to happen but we're going to try; we're gong to go for it."
