Buzzing indie rock from some rising stars

More about:

Isle of Wight’s Coach Party have just released their brand new EP After Party, which is available now via Chess Club Records. Alongside the release, they have shared the music video for new single ‘i’m sad’. The single is one of the more relaxed offerings from the new EP, but don’t let it fool you – it goes on to explode into a buzzing haze of guitars.

The rest of the EP is a charming mix of blurred guitars and cutting, often tongue-in-cheek lyrics that give the impression of being back in a venue watching them perform on stage with an overpriced drink in your hand.

They explain that this was exactly what they wanted from the EP:

“We had a feeling that it might be a long time before we get to play live again so a part of us wanted to make this EP a bit like a gig and refrain from going mad with overdubs… face melting riffs over studio tricks. Rumour has it that Paul McCartney wanted to produce this one, but we told him we need a little longer to carve our own sound and told him to call back in 2021… he might have lost our number.”
