Finally: a new Steam Down song! Today, the London collective share 'Empower', which will make up a September EP titled Five Fruit, dropping on Decca. Their special weekly evening returns tonight (19 May) too, to Matchstick Piehouse in Deptford.

Like its predecessor and debut 'Free My Skin', 'Empower' is a joyful slice of genre befuddlement. DnB-tinged Afrobeat meets grime and jazz on a track that's chock full of affirmations, the foremost of which is the refrain "you are powerful!" In the song's last minute, Tinyman and Afronaut Zu offer quick-paced rap verses to make 'Empower' a true quilt of delightfulness.

Collective founder Anhansé said of 'Empower': "is all about manifesting confidence, and fortifying yourself in the knowledge that you have the power to overcome, persist and achieve in the face of any adversity you may be dealing with.”

Five Fruit EP arrives 24 September via Decca.
