The Vaccines have just unveiled another taste of their upcoming album with title track ‘Back In Love City’. Combining nostalgic pop sounds with very modern lyrics, the band are getting ready to release a joyous concept album on 10 September.

‘Back In Love City’ bounces between genres and even decades, mixed in with phrases like “never even questioned if your cookies had consent” that twist up modern ideas. The highlight is the infectious choruses that give you everything you love about ‘80s pop.

The album is set to be an emotionally and narratively impressive work, taking inspiration from fictional locations to create the titular Love City. Somewhere in between utopia and dystopia, the setting acts as a perfect escape from everyday life. Frontman Justin Young says:

“In some obvious ways, we’re more connected than ever. But we’re also more polarised than we’ve been for 100 years and the world is getting colder. What if there was a place where love and other emotions had run dry - but you could go to Love City to get them?”

Back In Love City will be released 10 September on Super Easy via AWAL Recordings.
