The Y2K revival forges on: Baby Queen's new single 'Wannabe' is not only the title of a very famous '00s single indeed, but there are definite undercurrents of the turn of our century here, with a lush half-time groove reminiscent of RnB.

There's also a very good pop hook in this one:

'Wannabe' follows Baby Queen's mixtape The Yearbook, a project we called "one of the most iconic mixtapes this year"— "feeling vulnerable whilst being honest, it’s a cry out for anyone who feels alone".

On the new single, Baby Queen aka Bella Latham said: "It’s a song I wrote about the way other people have perceived me throughout my life. I feel like I’ve always had something to prove to other people and I’ve always been trying to fit into an ideal of who I should be and how I should behave. That changed when I became Baby Queen".
